中国有电视的历史并不算太短,然而,真正意义上广泛的电视传播不过十几年的历史,但就在短短的十几年里,取得了令人难以置信的发展。从小屏幕、黑白电视机,到大屏幕、彩色、高清晰度电视机;从街坊四邻挤在新买了电视的家庭里,屏声静气地等待节目开始,到90%以上的家庭拥有一台甚至一台以上的电视机;社会经济繁荣为电视的普及创造了条件。电视成了人们必不可少的伙伴。晚上看电视,在某种意义上成了民俗现象。而且一旦养成习惯,不看电视就觉得缺少点什么——仿佛生活的完整性遭到破坏,仿佛与世界沟通的渠道中断了,从而出现期待性焦虑。电视既扮演了家庭成员的角色,又成为公众的兴趣中心,同时,它所形成的信息冲击波,使我们的生活方式和与周围世界的关系,发生了一场几乎是革命性的变化。
