霸王棕(Bismarckia nobilis),又名俾斯麦榈、美丽蒲葵。树高可达60～70米,树姿魁伟、雄壮,特别是掌状叶硕大丰满,呈神奇的蓝绿色,因此被命名者比之为德国“铁血宰相”——俾斯麦而得名。原产马达加斯加,能耐0℃左右短期低温,在厦门地区引种长势良好。近年来,南方沿海城市致力营造“椰风海韵”的热带海滨景观,霸王棕以其不凡的“王者”风范,倍受青睐,成为热门树种之一。
