由于宇宙间的万事万物都有节奏,我们的祖先无论身处东方还是西方,都曾先后经历了用双手击掌、用树枝击地、用圆木挖空而成的木鼓击打等多种方式提供节奏的演进过程,而舞者们则在这些节奏的刺激下两脚跺地、全身各部位随之舞动,以便释放剩余精力、吸引异性注意、祭祀祖先英灵、表达思想感情。因此,“鼓”意味着节奏,汉语中的“鼓舞”在舞蹈史上意义重大,而鼓舞则是人类最早的舞蹈形式,用通俗的话来说,
