火灾扑救后期是指火势控制至消防队撤离火灾现场这一时间段。从火势被控制、基本扑灭、收拾残火,彻底扑灭,消防部队撤离现场,这是一个较长的过程,这个过程所花的时间往往多于消防队到场至火势控制所花的时间,多少年来,火场指挥员在概念上都十分重视第一过程;随着城市建设的发展和社会经济的繁荣,人们对消防部队的要求和期望也越来越高,从过去的快速扑灭和救出遇险人员的基本眼光外,也希望火灾扑救的整个过程能减少对社会和民众的影响度,因此,从构建社会主义和谐社会的目标出发,如何加强火灾扑救后期的组织管理,必须引起各级消防指挥员的高度重视。陈寒根/文吴学华/图
