This patent deals with the processing of seismic data and in particular the best filtering technique for removing from the seismic data the regular interfering events with a specific speed range. Interferences that occur in seismic data can include random or irregular interference caused by the instrumentation used or due to the special, covert nature of the measured geophysical data. There is another type of interference here that is regular interference. Such interferences include what is commonly referred to as multiple reflections between concomitant waves or reflective interfaces. With some processing techniques these types of rule interference can be suppressed. It is common practice to obtain multichannel seismograms with different receiving distances, with the geophones spaced such that the rules interfere with the events (multiples or companions
