戏剧在新时期前进了十年,我以为再前进,需要再次强调向生活学习。戏剧不回答生活中人们关心的问题,人们怎么会关心戏剧!?走进生活的深层,开掘生活的本质,避免用假浪漫主义去粉饰生活,也不因只看到生活的表层——生活中的坎坷——失去对永恒江河的信念!戏剧编、导的探索和创新活动,显现出困难的症候:有时是形式的华丽掩盖不住形象、内容的贫瘠;有时是一种形式被我们反复地在舞台上袭用。无论是现实主义或现代主义,无论是写实或写意,无论是再现或表现,无论是具象还是抽象,它们提炼生活的原则可能不一样,艺术观念与美学原则也可能不一样,然而艺术创造直接间接地来源于生活,我是深信不疑的。
