本文从弗里契和他同我国文艺理论的关系、苏联庸俗社会学盛行之历史背景、弗里契与普列汉诺夫、《西欧文学史纲》:庸俗社会学之批评实践、《艺术社会学》:庸俗社会学之理论集大成等五个部分的论述,认为弗里契等理论家把文艺与经济、阶级和科技之间的多层次、多方面的复杂联系,加以直线化和绝对化,并以这种简单化的公式来剪裁各种文艺现象,以致最终走向庸俗社会学之途。这一现象并非一个过去年代的故事,并未销声敛迹,如今依然有着广泛的国际性影响,值得我们深思。
