Latin American literature “explosion ” outstanding representative, the famous Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes nearly seven years, but his creative energy is still strong. Not long ago, two new books were published: “Sweet Orange Tree” and “Geography of Novels.” Taking this opportunity, Ramiro Cristobal, journalist of Spain’s Change 16, interviewed him. After talking about the current world and the real problems that all countries are facing, the topic has shifted to literature. Q: Do you think contemporary fiction reflects these issues? A: Literature is sometimes a metaphor. Often, behind a seemingly personal encounter, there is a complete picture of a country and an era. Gogol’s “Dead Souls” actually represented Russia at the time under the appearance of a scheming speculator. Spanish writer Goytisolo’s “scene after the battle” is existent in exile. There is no need for literature to directly describe major political or social issues. Good literature is good, it is that it eventually reversed
