Due to the special layout of functional elements in the F8, a complete microcomputer can be constructed using two large scale integrated circuits. Unlike most microprocessors, the F8 uses two large scale integrated circuits instead of one. Because the F8 has some of the features that other microprocessors do not have, systems that make up it are much more compact than systems that use single-chip microprocessors. By specializing the function elements, the F8 eliminates the address bus, equalizes the chip size and reduces the number of plugs and components (see Figure 1). At the same time, this layout also simplifies and accelerates the execution of the instructions. The result: two systems with enough RAM, ROM, interrupts, and I / O capabilities to handle the vast majority of control applications.
