三角褐指藻是对虾前期的优质饵料,但其繁殖盛期较对虾育苗期早,在时间上不同步。为解决这一问题,乳山县在三角褐指藻繁殖盛期将它浓缩,并放在-20℃-30℃的冷库里贮存,需要时取出,再溶化投喂。在 1984年的对虾育苗中,当饵料比较缺乏时,县育苗场用冷库里的三角褐指藻与鲜活牟氏角毛藻(6:4)一起投喂,发现对虾苗在各个发育阶段的成活率有不同程度提高;溞状幼体Ⅰ~Ⅲ期的变态时间也略有缩短。试验表明,即
