The difference between the tide levels of adjacent climax and low tide is called tidal range. The tidal ranges of the various ports are generally different. Even tidal ranges of adjacent ports are quite different. For example: Dalian Port tidal range 2.5 meters, Qinhuangdao tidal range 1 meter, Lianyungang 4.6 meters, the Yangtze River Estuary is 3.1 meters. Jiaojiang Port 4.1 meters, Hangzhou Bay Xupu had reached 8.9 meters. Why the tidal range varies from place to place? Due to the different geographical shapes and depths of the sea areas around the sea, the sea water does not cover the entire surface of the earth. The sea areas are a series of intermittent, deep or shallow, large and small sea basins. The sea water in each basin is not completely free to follow its nature
