美国电影《永无止境》是改编自阿兰·格里恩出版于2001年的小说《黑暗领域》(The Dark Fields),由尼尔·博格导演、布莱德利·库珀主演。影片采用倒叙的手法,从衣冠楚楚、相貌堂堂的男主人公站在平台上要跳楼来结束自己的生命以及背后是野蛮猛烈地撞击门的巨响开始,使得观众以为他是在逃避追杀而万不得已要结束自己的生命,可是男主人公却用平和安稳的口气向观众讲述了在过去短短几个月的时间内他的飞黄腾达的经历。
