淡竹(Phyllostachys glauca Mcclure),陕西关中称青竹、甜竹,属刚竹属竹种。它蔑性好,是编织和农具柄的好材料,笋鲜美甘甜,可供食用。淡竹广泛分布在我国黄河中、下游的陕西、河南、山西、河北和山东等省,是北方优良的乡土竹种。我省西起宝鸡、东至潼关的关中平原南部有普遍栽培,多为灌溉竹林,其中以华县、华阴、周至、户县面积较大。
