去年10月的《英语辅导报》刊出一篇题为《斗胆质疑“博士后”一词》的文章(下称《斗》文)。该文认为“博士后”的提法“不妥”,建议改为“后博士”,或“高级博士”。最近持类似观点还有一些同志。鉴于这里提出了一个具有汉语词汇构成规范的宏观性质问题,若讨论该词是否得当,是否应予“纠正”等,就需要从研究语言发展、词语产生及其确立的条件的角度加以阐述。语言的发展史表明,新词语的产生和确认,要具备三个条件。
In October last year, the “English Tutor” published an article titled “Fighting the Word ”Doctoral Post“ (hereinafter referred to as ”Dou“). The article argues that the reference to ”postdoctoral“ is ”unfavorable“ and suggests changing to ”post-doctoral,“ or ”senior doctor." There are also some comrades who hold similar views recently. In view of the fact that there is a question of macroscopic nature that has the vocabulary constitutional norms of the Chinese language, if it is discussed whether the word is appropriate or not, whether it should be “corrected”, it needs to be elaborated from the perspective of studying the development of language, the generation of words, and the conditions for its establishment. The history of language development shows that the creation and confirmation of new words must have three conditions.
