伍荘(1881—1959),谱名文琛,字宪子,号梦蝶,广东顺德人;为康有为万木草堂弟子,故又别字宪庵,因“康门徒侣多以庵字相称,即是源出康门之标记”。以此,伍与梁启超有同门之谊。不过,伍荘步入政治之途较迟。据胡应汉所著《伍宪子先生传记》,伍氏1904年奉康有为之命,帮助另一草堂弟子徐勤办香港《商报》②,这应是其参与康梁派政治活动之始。而此后,伍荘的个人命运即与政党活动密不可分,最终以中国民主宪政党主席的身份留名史册。
