尤劲东1949年,生于湖南省长沙市；1950年,随父母定居北京；1965年,考入中央美术学院附中；1969年,到黑龙江省集贤县,建设兵团第2 8团1连(今291农场)作农业工人；1972年,到28团直属学校作图画教师；1975年,到桦南县,生产建设兵团31团(今曙光农场)宣传股作美术宣传员；1978年,考入沈阳鲁迅美术学院版画系学习,毕业时作创作了连环画《人到中年》；1982年,鲁迅美院毕业,获学士学位,同年考入中央美术学院年连系研究生班；研究生期间创作了连环画《黑色的沃土》、《母亲的回忆》；1985年,《人到中年》在第六届全国美展获金质奖,作品被中国美术馆收藏；1985年,中央美院研究生毕业,获硕士学位,并留校任教。1986年,作品《黑色的沃土》获北京市美术展览一等奖,作品被北京美协收藏；1986年,被选为中国美术家协会理事,并连环画艺委会委员。1988年,参加中国美术馆“中青年画家15人邀请展”；1990年,游学日本。在此期间先后在东京每日画廊、三越画廊、东京中央美术馆、崎玉美术馆等举办个人展览。
You Jingdong was born in 1949 in Changsha City, Hunan Province. In 1950, he settled with his parents in Beijing. In 1965, he was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1986, his work “Black Fertile Land” won the first prize of the Beijing Art Exhibition. His works were collected by the Beijing Artists Association. In 1986, he was elected as the director of the Chinese Artists Association and a member of the Circus Arts Committee. In 1988, to participate in the China Art Museum “young and middle-aged artists invited exhibition”; In 1990, to study in Japan. During this period, he held solo exhibitions at Tokyo Daily Gallery, Mitsukoshi Gallery, Tokyo Central Museum of Art, Saitama Art Museum.
