Step 1 Warm up
1.Free talk
Good morning/Good afternoon.
Close the door.

2.Brain storm
The teacher put some number cards on the blackboard,then move them quickly,ask the Ss to read loudly.
Step 2 Presentation
1.出示课文图片1,突出显示图中的蛋糕
T: Look at this picture.What a big cake! 好大的一个蛋糕啊
Teach: What a …
What a nice cake! 多么漂亮的一个蛋糕啊!
T: Today is Sam’s birthday.He and his friends are having a birthday party.Let’s sing “Happy birthday to you”to Sam,OK?
T: Are you happy?
Ss: Yes.
T: 出示课文图片2:Look,this is Sam.How old is he?
学生看图回答:He’s two.
T: How do you know? 你们是怎么知道的?
Ss: 蛋糕上插了两支蜡烛。
2.T: Yes,Sam is two years old.
It’s his birthday,so he makes a wish.
新授 Make a wish.(许愿)
3.Watch and choose.
(1)T: What does Sam want? Do you want to know?
Let’s watch a cartoon and try to find the answers.

4.出示图4和图5: I want a .

鼓励学生用所学句型I want… 造句,大胆说出自己的生日愿望。
6.出示Bobby 的表情。
It’s time for the cake! 到了该吃蛋糕的时间了!

7.Reading Time.
(1)Read after the tape.
逐句听录音跟读课文,注意不同角色的语句。
(2)自由读课文,体会幽默之处:
Bobby is hungry.But Sam makes a lot of wishes.
(3)Happy reading.
同桌或分组朗读课文,注意把单词读准确。
(4)Act in roles.
同桌进行角色扮演,注意模仿动画中角色的语音和语调。
Step 3 Consolidation
1.Show some special numbers,ask the students to read them quickly.
(急救电话和部分常用号码)
2.Use these numbers in your daily life.
用英语说一说家庭电话号码、门牌号码等。
Step 4 Homework
1.Read Cartoon time.
2.Act out the dialogues with the partners.

本节课围绕卡通形象Sam 过生日展开讨论,复习了本单元询问年龄的重点句型How old are you?及其回答I’m ….学生们都有过生日吃蛋糕的经历,当我出示一张漂亮的生日蛋糕图片时,同学们都异常兴奋,仿佛闻到了蛋糕的香味。借此机会,我带领大家学习了感叹句What a …! 每个同学过生日时都会收到亲朋好友的祝福和生日礼物,在学习了I want…句型之后,我鼓励学生大胆用英语说出自己的生日愿望,课堂气氛非常活跃,教学效果超过了预想!
