2005年10月,在党中央提出今后五年建设社会主义新农村任务的同时,武鸣县也被自治区政府列为全区开展社会主义新农村建设试点县。这一殊荣令全县人民,尤其是农村的广大人民欢欣鼓舞。近几年来,武鸣县的文明创建工作不仅取得了创建广西“文明县城”、“全国村民自治模范县”、“全国民族团结进步模范集体”等骄人的成绩,还扎实创建出了近400个文明单位、123个县级以上生态文明村,更在创建中积累了丰富的经验和群众思想基础。这些都为开展社会主义新农村建设试点工作打下了坚实的基础。
In October 2005, while the Central Party Committee proposed the task of building a new socialist countryside for the next five years, Wuming County was also listed as a pilot counties for the construction of a new socialist countryside by the autonomous region government.
