Recently, Qingdao Henglu Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and the British company BOC invested US$ 3.35 million to develop a 10,000-tonne liquid carbon dioxide project that was completed and put into operation. BOC is one of the four largest gas companies in the world. There are currently 27 branches in China. The liquid carbon dioxide project utilizes the remaining exhaust gas of the decarburization system of the ammonia synthesis plant of Henglu as raw materials to produce food grade low-pressure liquid carbon dioxide products. In 1996, the two sides have successfully cooperated in the development of an annual production capacity of 600 tons of liquid carbon dioxide. After the project is put into production, the annual production capacity of liquid carbon dioxide will reach 16,000 tons.
