In 1992, the formal establishment of a unified market by the European Economic Community was the key step towards economic integration after Western Europe’s political union. To smoothly transition to the ultra-border regional market on New Year’s Day 1993, many difficulties are facing Western European countries. One of them is the coordinated development of the regional economy. Western Europe is one of the most developed regional economic groups in the world today. Due to historical, traffic and geographical reasons, the development between the regions is very uneven and there are huge differences. If there is no timely reduction of the regional economic gap, it will be very difficult to achieve reunification in Western Europe market. This article explores the European Economic Community’s regional policy.
