The U.S. Army is currently developing a long-range high-precision long-range fiber-guided missile (LONGFOG) with a range of 100 km. If used, the multi-tube rocket system (MLRS) manufactured by Lockheed Martin Water Systems is likely to be the launch platform for such fiber-guided missiles. LONGFOG can also be used for military operations that do not require precision strikes, with the funding of the Army Aviation and Missile Command and the Missile Research Development Engineering Center.
