The crude polysaccharide fraction (F-5) in Shiquan Dabu Tang promotes the production of interleukin-2 (IL-2) in mouse spleen cells stimulated with concanavalin A (Con-A). After F-5 was fractionated by bromotrimethylammonium precipitation, the neutral polysaccharide fraction (F-5-5) promoted IL-2 production and exhibited anti-complement activity.
