我省部分地区桑黄化型萎缩病危害严重,生产上迫切要求选育抗病品种。以往对桑树品种抗病性的鉴定方法是将供试品种栽植在桑园中,经过自然条件长期考验,才能明确其抗病性的强弱,这样就延长了抗病品种的选育过程,我所自1968年起经多年接种试验,肯定了我省发生的红头菱纹叶蝉(学名未定)是桑黄化型萎缩病的传病媒介,我们试图利用这种媒介昆虫并控制其头数用吸毒接种的方法来鉴定桑树各品种间的抗病性强弱。经1973年及1974年两年的探讨,初见成效。兹简介如下:
