黄西(Joe Wong),理科男,曾在中国科学院攻读硕士,后获得美国得克萨斯州莱斯大学博士学位,全职从事科学研究。2009年4月17日晚,美国深夜节目收视率冠军“大卫.莱特曼秀”破天荒邀请黄西亮相,以中国口音极重的英语讲美式笑话,近6分钟的演出,观众反应热烈。黄西一炮而红,成为英语世界不多见的华裔脱口秀演员。2010年,黄西登上美国记者年会的舞台,用20分钟的单口相声表演逗乐了一大批记者和美国副总统拜登。
