In late 1986, I was fortunate to be a member of the Chinese delegation and participated in the first International Ceramics Millon International Exhibition 86 held in Tajimi-shi, Japan. This exhibition has selected over 400 pieces of exhibits from more than 5,000 works of ceramic design artists in 47 countries and regions (including Taiwan Province of China), which is undoubtedly a major event in international ceramic art. This exhibition is based on novel ideas and bold imagination. It is refreshing to see that many of the new ideas that have entered into contemporary art and new materials derived from modern science and technology are refreshing.
