BMW公司研制的可变气缸数发动机,是使6缸发动机中的半数气缸停止工作,成为部分负荷运转的直列6缸电子控制燃油喷射式汽油发动机.目前,已达到先进技术的试验阶段。此发动机的排气量分2.8升和3.5升两种.在部分负荷时,通过电子控制,停止3个气缸的燃油喷射[见图(a)的右半部],同时用另外继续工作的3个缸[见图(a)的左半部]中燃烧后排出的气体代替新气通入,以保证气体循环,称之为TZA系统(即部分负荷气缸停气)。装有这种系统的汽车在欧洲公路上行驶时可节省25%的燃料。
The variable cylinder count engine developed by BMW is an in-line six-cylinder electronically controlled fuel-injection gasoline engine that stops half of six-cylinder engines and becomes partially loaded, and has now reached the pilot stage of advanced technology.
