In the past two or three decades, the health work in the capitalist countries has undergone major changes in the material and technical bases, processes, and labor organizations. Complex medical devices, equipment, and the latest high-efficiency drugs and machines have become an important means of treatment. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry Development: From 1960 to 1975, pharmaceutical production in the United States increased by 8.5% per year, 11.5% in the Federal Republic of Germany and France, 14% in the United Kingdom, and 16% in Japan. The medical industry in the United States grew by 8.7% annually from 1958 to 1978, which is twice the speed of the general processing industry. On the other hand, the increase in wages for health system workers (although 15-25% lower than in other industrial sectors) also stimulates machine production in order to replace manpower where possible. The development of the material and technical foundation of the health industry is also reflected in simple and complex mechanization, electrification, and electronic computing.
