In 1981, Seigel et al proposed a new concept of “erythrocyte immune system”, arousing great concern of the academic community. It is known that erythrocytes have a variety of immune functions, such as identification of antigen storage, immune adhesion removal complex, enhancement of cell-like effect of T cell response, and defense against infection. The evaluation of immune function can be used as an indicator of erythrocyte immune adhesion activity.
