There is a growing mismatch between the skills people have and the skills they need to find a job. In the era of record-breaking youth unemployment, job openings are steadily increasing. McKinsey estimates that by 2020 the global economy will face a shortage of up to 40 million university-educated workers. In the meantime, McKinsey predicts that the global population of surplus unskilled workers will be as high as 95 million. To be in sync with the needs of the job market, we need a new type of education to fill the skill gap, which should train staff and develop a lifelong learning workforce as needed.
