In June and November 1990, Mexican President Salinas and U.S. President Bush exchanged visits, focusing on the free trade between Mexico and the United States. Both parties agreed in principle to form a free trade modeled after the free trade agreement between the United States and Canada Agreements to gradually eliminate trade barriers step by step, to minimize non-tariff barriers, to protect intellectual property rights, to establish procedures for the settlement of disputes, and to improve and expand the flow of goods, services and investments between the two countries. In this way, talking about the nearly 10 years of free trade negotiations between Mexico and the United States finally referred to the agenda. It marks that the originally closer economic relations between the two countries have entered a new period of development. This is an important step toward economic development in the two countries, especially the United States seeking to establish an American free trade group in the western hemisphere. It will have a huge impact on the future world economic situation Impact.
