唐文宗诗曰:“人皆苦炎热,我爱夏日长。”柳公权续后云:“薰风自南来,殿阁生微凉。”或者谓其不能因诗以讽。后苏子瞻为续之云:“一为居所移,苦乐永相忘。愿言均此施,清阴分四方。”亦未免蛇足,不知柳句正所以讽也。盖风之来,惟殿阁穆清高爽之地始知其凉,而征夫耕叟方奔驰作劳,低垂喘汗于黄尘赤日之中,虽有此风,安知所谓凉哉!此与宋玉对楚王日“此独大王之风耳,庶人安得而共之”者同意。——《柳公权诗意》
