从中国大革命的军旅阵营中走来的周韶华一贯以“大”的境界来张扬激情,这一特征贯穿了他的艺术实践和创作理念。革命的周韶华和周韶华的艺术,二者之间存在着微妙的联系,由此折射出一个时代的历史景象。与充满革命浪漫情怀的老一代现实主义艺术家不同,忻东旺的现实主义是沉静和冷峻的。他极有天赋的油画语言和他所选择的“农民工”题材带来的感同身受的亲切性,真切传达出艺术家对今日中国社会种种不和谐现象的深思。中国艺术研究院研究生院依托独特的学术环境,将中国高级美术教育的特点和优势充分发挥出来,引起越来越广泛的注意。该院在设置中国画等专业的同时还开设了工艺类专业,这为本期本栏目工艺美术家的介绍提供了亮点。
