在基层工会图书馆服务工作中,除了书刊借阅外,还有一部分解答读者提问的工作,这就是参考咨询工作。它是图书馆较深入的服务,工作活跃,内容丰富,对于提高图书馆的服务质量,满足读者特定需求具有重要意义。参考咨询工作的好坏,是衡量图书馆的影响和作用的重要标志。第一节参考咨询工作的概念读者在学习、研究、技术革新、教学或创作中,常常会遇到一些和利用文献有关的问题,需要向图书馆提出咨询,要求图书馆给予解答和帮助。参考咨询工作就是指图书馆员对读者所提出的关于图书馆、图书馆知识、文献及文献线索等方面的问题给予解答,或通过编制书目、索引,有针对性地向读者提供参考资料的工作。也可以说,参考咨询工作就是图书馆针对个别读者的需求,为他们提供有关图书馆及文献知识的一种服务。参考咨询工作包括咨询解答和书目参考两部分内容。这两项服务虽然都是满足读者的特定需求,
