In a previous study, a fragment (HbSSH10) specifically expressed in rubber gum latex was obtained by suppression subtractive hybridization and contained “RINGfinger” or “C3HC4” conserved sequences. According to the sequence information of HbSSH10, primers were designed and a full-length cDNA (HbRZF) was obtained by 3’-RACE and 5’-RACE. The cDNA contains 589 nucleotides and contains a complete reading frame encoding 156 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence contains “RINGfinger” or “C3HC4” conserved regions (amino acids 100-144). This amino acid sequence shares 48%, 52% and 50% homology with the loop zinc finger protein of Poncirus trifoliata, Arabidopsisthaliana and Thellungiellahalophila, respectively. Northern blot analysis showed that HbRZF was abundantly expressed in latex and slightly expressed in leaves, with little expression in roots and flowers. JA treatment induced the expression of HbRZF in latex, while ethylene had no effect on the expression of HbRZF in latex.
