进入新世纪的中国已势不可挡地全面融入经济全球化、知识信息化的浪潮,掌握一门外语以主动融入国际交流是目乃至未来社会人才必备的重要素质之一,这已成为国人的共识。因此,客观研究我国英语教学的现状,认真总结英语教学的成功经验,努力提高我国英语教学的质量,尽快培养能使用英语进行有效交际的合格人才,是新世纪赋予英语教学工作者义不容辞的责任。这样也是本文研究的主旨所在。
In the new century, China has overwhelmingly integrated itself into the tide of economic globalization and knowledge informatization. It is one of the common understandings of people that mastering a foreign language in order to take part in international exchanges initiatively is one of the important qualities necessary for the future social talents. Therefore, objectively studying the present situation of English teaching in our country, conscientiously summing up the successful experience of English teaching, making great efforts to improve the quality of English teaching, and cultivating qualified personnel who can communicate effectively in English are the bounden duty of English teaching workers in the new century. This is also the main purpose of this article.
