发展低酚棉可在发展棉花生产的同时开发宝贵的植物蛋白资源作为食品和饲料。外省引入的低酚棉品种(系)在浙江不很适应,产量较低。浙江省农科院作物所育成的低酚棉新品系2049和467,表现高产、稳产,棉纤维品质较好,其棉仁含酚量显著低于国际卫生标准允许量。1988年在兰溪市黄土丘陵上试种2049,亩产皮棉124.3-141.2 kg,超过当地有酚棉良种。据试种结果,金衢盆地的黄土丘陵和沿海盐土很适合发展低酚棉。发展低酚棉要大力做好保纯和良种繁育工作。低酚棉副产品的综合利用可首先用作饲料,发展养猪生产。
Developing low phenol cotton can develop valuable plant protein resources as food and feed while developing cotton production. Low-phenolic cotton varieties (lines) introduced by other provinces are not very suitable for use in Zhejiang Province, with lower yields. The new low-phenolic cotton cultivars 2049 and 467 bred by the crop of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences showed high yield and stable yield with better cotton fiber quality. The phenol content of cotton kernels was significantly lower than the allowable amount of international health standards.
