1995年10月17—20日在四川联合大学由四川省比较文学学会、四川省作家协会、《当代文坛》编辑部联合召开了“四川国际文化交流暨比较文学研讨会”。来自美国、加拿大、日本、香港、中国的80余位专家、学者出席了会议。四川联大教授曹顺庆回顾了四川省比较文学学会成立、发展的历史和所取得的成就。四川省作家协会主席马识途提出:比较应该站在平等的基础上共同发展。不能以己之长,比人之短。要通过比较使中国文学进一步走向世界。学者们就中外文化交流、中西诗学对话、中国文学与外来文化、中西比较文学研究、文学翻译研究等专题展开了讨论。
From October 17 to October 20, 1995, Sichuan Union University held “Sichuan International Culture Exchange and Comparative Literature Symposium” by Sichuan Province Comparative Literature Society, Sichuan Writers Association and Editorial Department of “Contemporary Literary Circles”. More than 80 experts and scholars from the United States, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and China attended the conference. Professor Cao Shunqing of SichuanUniversity General Institute reviewed the history and achievements of the establishment and development of Sichuan Association of Comparative Literature. Sichuan Provincial Writers Association Ma Shitu Tu proposed: the more should be based on equality and common development. Can not be longer, shorter than people. It is necessary to make Chinese literature go further to the world through comparison. Scholars discussed the topics of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, the dialogue between Chinese and Western poetics, Chinese literature and foreign cultures, comparative Chinese and Western literature, and literary translation studies.
