一九九六年是我国“九五”计划取得良好开端的一年，也是我院基础研究取得重大成果的一年。全院评出自然科学奖86项，其中一等奖12项，二等奖35项，三等奖39项，这些成果奖是在150多项申请中，经过专家的严格评审评出的，都具有较大的科学意义和较高的学术水平，尤其是自然科学
