号养荷斋主、老荷。1956年生于湖北,现居北京。经济学硕士,高级经济师。师从著名学者、书法家吴丈蜀先生。1987年创立东楚书画社并任社长,曾任黄石市书法家协会主席。现为中国书法家协会会员,中国金融书法家协会副主席。作品参加全国首届大字书法艺术展并获二等奖;参加中国银行首届书法作品展并获一等奖;参加湖北省首届书法大赛并获二等奖;多次参加中国书法家协会组织的大型展览和参加全国第二届、第三届流行书风展;全国中青年书法名家百人展;“渊源与流变”——二王帖系书风展;多次参加全国当代书法名家学术邀请展;参加首届国际书法年展和中日、中新等国际书法交流展并随中国书法家代表团访问新加坡、马来西亚等国家。组织策划首届中国现代书法提名展。书法报,书法导报和《中国书法》、《书法》、《书法杂志》多次对其进行专题介绍,湖北电视台,中央电视台等为其制作书法专题片并播出。书法作品被人民大会堂、毛主席纪念堂、中南海和美国、德国、日本、新加坡等国的艺术机构及个人收藏。
