Gender-based language difference,as a common phenomenon and research interest has drawn great attention in sociolinguistics field.This paper aims to discuss possible reasons for language differences between men and women in China based on dominance framework and difference theory.Moreover,Chinese culture,Chinese history and the development of modern society related to the causes for language difference between men and women are examined in this paper as well.It is hoped that the current paper can help contribute to furthering the study of language and gender.
