Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station is located in Dapeng Township, Longgang District, Shenzhen. It is about 45 kilometers from the center of Shenzhen City in the east and about 50 kilometers from the center of Hong Kong in the southwest. It is China’s first large-scale commercial nuclear power generation construction project introduced from abroad. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station consists of two PWR units with an installed capacity of 980,800 kilowatts and a design life of 40 years. The nuclear island part of the unit is supplied by French Famatong company, and the conventional island part is supplied by British and French General Electric - Alstom company.
