今年是张元导演生涯的第20年,20年前自第一部作品《妈妈》问世以来,张元始终伴随着争议,游走在主流与非主流之间。尽管其早已在国际各大电影节上获奖无数,可是对于大多数国内观众而言,张元和他的电影还是“小众和文艺”的代名词。当然,张元并不希望自己的作品只被少数人看到。事实上,为了打开国内市场,这几年他也确实做过不少努力,比如《绿茶》和《看上去很美》。而其最新作品《达达》则早在去年就已通过审查,至今却仍在等待公映。对于张元来说,下一个20年或许才是真正的开始。
This year is the first 20 years of director Zhang Yuan’s career. Since the advent of his first work “Mom” 20 years ago, Zhang Yuan has been accompanied by controversy and wandered between the mainstream and the non-mainstream. Although it has already won numerous awards at major international film festivals, for most domestic audiences, Zhang Yuan and his films are synonymous with “minorities and the arts.” Of course, Zhang Yuan did not want his work to be seen by only a handful of people. In fact, in order to open the domestic market in recent years, he has indeed done a lot of hard work, such as “green tea” and “looks beautiful.” And his latest work, Dada, passed the review as early as last year and is still awaiting release. For Zhang Yuan, the next 20 years may be the real start.
