坦克车体通过一种弹性元件悬挂在负重轮上,从而减少了车体受到的冲击和震撞。这种弹性元件的总和被人们称为悬挂装置。现代高速车辆,如小轿车,车体和车轮之间也是通过一套弹性装置连接起来的。车在公路上高速奔驰,虽然车轮因地面不平而上下跳动,但车内的人却没有强烈的颠震感觉。其主要原因就是弹性悬挂装置吸收了来自车轮的冲击和震动。
