After more than 40 ups and downs of the Spring and Autumn Yalta established after the end of the Second World War, the Yalta system developed from a multipolar world political structure confronted by the United States and the Soviet Union. Japan in East Asia is striving to find a political position corresponding to its status as a major economic power. With the disintegration of the Yalta system, the end of the cold war and the old days’ relations with the United States and Japan can hardly be maintained in today’s multi-polar world. Only in the face of the established facts, the United States and Japan will gradually establish a new relationship between the United States and Japan under the new conditions. The author elaborates and analyzes the foundations, conditions and potential international implications of the new relationship between the United States and Japan.
