吉林省实驗中学苦战两个月,没花一文钱办起了一个较大的实习工厂,現在全部机床都已轉动起来,轰轰隆隆地投入生产。这个实习工厂原是一个殘缺不全,根本无法使用的廢机器仓庫。庫里的机器都是1955年搞基本生产技术教育时,由各工厂贈送給学校的退伍車床。当时也曾想請些技术人員来帮助修复,好利用它上实习課,可是这些机器不是缺刀架就是缺床尾,好多年不能使用。請来的人看了一致搖头,說这些机器要修理好一台就得花費一两千元,而且修好后恐怕也只能作为模型供参观之用。学校只好把这些廢物堆在那里,用手工生产方式来上实习課。今年三月,全省的勤工儉学活动开展后,各校都在千方百計地寻找生产门路,挖掘潜力,力爭上游。形势逼人奋进。在这种情况下吉林实驗中学也在考虑怎样使实习工厂的廢机器复活。四位教师带领廿八名工厂活动小組的学生,大胆担負了这个任务,他們仅仅用了两个月时間就修复五台車床,改变了四台旧机
