TDI, a raw material for polyurethane resins, can cause bronchial asthma. It is the most common type of so-called low molecular weight compounds reported by Kihara and others in Japan. There have been many reports of cases of bronchial asthma in TDI operations. Recently, however, TDI has been very diversified in use and has been expanding in use by small-scale enterprises.
