我国服装设计教育在大专院校设立系、科已有近十五年的历史,回顾走过的道路成绩是辉煌的.这十五年经历了创业、摸索、稳定、发展的过程.进入90年代后,我国服装行业以惊人的速度蓬勃发展,服装企业从粗放型向集约化转变、密集型向知识密集性转化.社会对于具有服装专业知识人才的需求量越来越大,社会提供的职业、岗位越来越多.我国服装设计教育的现状目前我国服装设计教育有多种规格、多种层次,从研究生、本科生、专科生到中专生、技校生等一应俱全.办学方式多种多样,就大学层次的服装设计教育已是名目繁多,除了专门的服装设计学院,工艺美术学院服装设计系、综合性大学、纺织学院服装设计专业外,还有夜大、函大、职工大学,以及各种大学文凭的学习班都设有服装设计专业.可以说在工艺美术(或称工业设计)的各种专业中,服装设计是全国开办得最“多”最“火”的专业之一.每年一批批服装设计专业毕业的大学生走上工作岗位,然而真正能适应社会需要,毕业生知识结构、技能水平达到服装行业(不仅仅是服装生产企业)工作要求的并不多.诚然这其中有多方面因素;毕业生的择业范围更加宽范,服装设计师的流动性强等.然而我认为最重要的是我国服装设计教育的规格、层次
