金苞花是爵床科麒麟吐珠属多年生常绿草本连续开花植物,原产于墨西哥和秘鲁,引进我国才十多年,目前家庭栽培尚不太普遍。一、特征特性金苞花株高30～50厘米,叶形似桃树叶,但较厚,叶面翠绿油亮,似涂了一层蜡,更似翡翠雕成,幽稚大方,诱人喜爱。花形独特,色泽艳丽,通常是在枝条顶端长出一穗由一二十个金黄色的小花苞组成的大花序。这些花苞层叠在花枝上,似一座玲珑剔透的黄金宝塔,又象一支金色大虾,所以又称黄虾花和虾衣花。因其整个花枝又象一支棒棒糖,世界不少地方又称之为棒糖花。顾名思义,金苞花具有金色的
