1988年9月25—28日,在江苏省南京市召开的国际植物园学术讨论会,是我国植物园史上首次召开的国际性学术会议。参加会议的国内代表188人,其中有著名植物学家陈封怀、吴征镒、仲崇信、徐炳声、王献溥、盛诚桂、贺善安等,国外有来自22个国家和地区的代表63人。其中有IUCN植物园保护秘书处主任海伍德、国际植物园协会主席艾什顿、美国国立树木园主任卡西、苏联莫斯科总植物园主任安德烈耶夫教授等。
On September 25-28, 1988, the International Botanical Garden Symposium held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is the first international academic conference held in the history of Botanic Gardens in China. There were 188 domestic representatives participating in the conference, including famous botanists Chen Fahuai, Wu Zhengtao, Zhong Chongxin, Xu Bingsheng, Wang Xianpu, Sheng Chenggui and He Shan’an. There are also 63 representatives from 22 countries and regions abroad. Among them, Haywood, director of IUCN Botanic Gardens Conservation Secretariat, Ashton, chairman of the International Botanic Gardens Association, Casey, director of the National Arboretum, and Professor Andrey Yev, director of the Moscow Botanical Garden of the Soviet Union, among others.
