用事实说话是新闻报道的基本手法。“用事实说话”这个命题包含两层意思:一是一切新闻都要真实地、准确地、客观地叙述发生、发展着的事实。二是记者要善于通过对事实的挑选、安排和客观叙述,来体现自己的思想、倾向和观点。这种以客观报道新闻事实为主而把自己的思想倾向隐藏在对事实的挑选、叙述中的语体,就是新闻报道的基本语体。
Speaking facts is the basic technique of news coverage. The proposition of “speaking in facts” has two meanings: First, all news must truthfully, accurately and objectively narrate what happened and was developed. Second, journalists should be good at reflecting their own thoughts, tendencies and perspectives through the selection, arrangement and objective narration of facts. This kind of objective news reporting is based on the fact that the objective is hidden in the selection of facts. The narrative style is the basic style of news coverage.
